Australian Federal Police
Previously a Federal Agent at the AFP, Ms Yong recently returned to the organisation for the opportunity to lead its enterprise cyber security efforts. Prior to this appointment, she was in charge of the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s prevention programs branch, where she oversighted major updates to the Information Security Manual, led technical risk assessments into national critical infrastructure projects, delivered technology vulnerability assessments, ran the Commonwealth Government’s ‘red’ testing teams and made some early contributions to the nation’s cyber security strategy and policies.
Ms Yong’s early engineering experience in securing technology came from the commercial sector, at two major network integrators and a global audit firm. As a technology specialist now working within an enterprise IT environment, she maintains a range of cyber security, program management and enterprise architecture credentials and remains a long-standing member of ISACA. Ms Yong graduated from the University of Adelaide with a BA/LL.B and is a qualified lawyer with an MBA (Technology) from the AGSM.
