We have released our 2025-26 Corporate Plan, setting out our approach to leading digital transformation across government. The plan focuses on responsible AI, stronger investment governance, procurement reform and digital capability uplift.

A central priority is the advancing of the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence across government. In 2025-26, our work in providing guidance for the responsible adoption of AI will expand. We will release an impact assessment tool, giving agencies a consistent way to consider risks, benefits, and alignment with the AI Ethics Principles.

The Corporate Plan reinforces the importance of the Digital and ICT Investment Oversight Framework (IOF) as a key structure for managing digital investments. In 2025-26, the DTA will strengthen the framework by deepening integration with state and territory initiatives, refining performance measures, and expanding advisory support to agencies.

Procurement reform is another key focus. The DTA will continue consolidating panel arrangements to reduce duplication and improve access, while also enhancing transparency and ensuring value for money through independent review. Ongoing engagement with industry will ensure procurement models remain fit for purpose and responsive to market change.

Building digital capability across the Australian Public Service is another important area for the DTA. Through training, guidance and support, the DTA is helping agencies strengthen skills in areas such as digital service design, responsible AI and investment planning. This focus on workforce capability ensures that transformation is sustainable and that agencies are equipped to deliver better digital services into the future.

By setting a clear direction for the years ahead, the DTA’s Corporate Plan 2025-26 ensures government remains well placed to embrace innovation, strengthen digital capability and deliver better outcomes for all Australians.
