Buying AWS products
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) arrangement makes it easier for Australian Government agencies to buy AWS products and services.
What are these arrangements?
The AWS arrangement simplifies the buying of AWS products and services for Australian Government agencies. It provides benefits not previously available for many agencies.
Who these arrangements are for
Non-corporate Commonwealth entities must use these arrangements when they choose to buy AWS products and services.
Corporate Commonwealth entities and state and territory government agencies may be able to use these arrangements on a case-by-case basis.
Products and services included
The AWS arrangement does not facilitate the provision of retail services via amazon.com.au, but does include access to:
- Cloud-based services
- Professional services
- Enterprise support
Using these arrangements
For non-corporate Commonwealth entities that already use AWS, you will need to transition to the arrangement.
Get in touch with us if you have any questions about using AWS products or services.
Policy information
The arrangement is part of the Australian Government’s ICT coordinated procurement contracting framework initiatives.
The AWS arrangement is a contractual agreement between AWS and the Commonwealth of Australia, represented by the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA).
Government buyers who use this arrangement must still comply with the following policies and processes:
