A recent review of the DTA’s Single Seller Arrangements recommends changes that will build stronger strategic partnerships between government and the Australian technology sector. As part of these changes, the arrangements will be rebranded as Coordinated Contracting Arrangements. The DTA is seeking your input on a discussion paper.
An independent review into the Australian Government’s Single Seller Arrangements (SSAs) has identified opportunities for the DTA to strengthen the SSA model, leverage investment in Australia’s technology sector and uplift market transparency.
DTA CEO Chris Fechner said, “The review identified opportunities to grow these arrangements from commercial relationships to genuine strategic partnerships, with a focus on how sellers could identify opportunities for the Australian technology sector locally and within global supply chains."
The review made 5 key recommendations:
The DTA has reviewed these recommendations and is developing an implementation plan that includes initiatives to be delivered progressively over time, following the development and publication of the suitability assessment framework.
The review recommended renaming SSAs to better reflect their position as contracting frameworks.
The arrangements have been renamed to Coordinated Contracting Arrangements (CCAs). The DTA is currently in the process of formalising this change and updating it across various websites, including DTA.gov.au and BuyICT.gov.au.
A key initiative to be undertaken is the development of a new suitability assessment framework which will ensure that potential CCA sellers can be assessed against a transparent set of principles.
The DTA has developed a discussion paper for consultation across the Australian technology sector, buyers, sellers and the wider community to ensure that the resulting suitability assessment framework is fit for purpose and could be leveraged to support the Australian technology sector.
We are seeking your input on this discussion paper by 16 June 2026. Submit a response through Have your say on digital.gov.au.
Information provided by sellers at this stage is sought for planning and market understanding purposes only. This activity does not constitute a request for tender, an approach to market, or a commitment by the Australian Government to procure any goods or services. Sellers should not use the discussion paper to pitch products and services or request a CCA.
DTA will review your response and may release a deidentified summary of the findings informing the updated framework later this year.
