What we do

The Digital Investment Management Office is a team within the Digital Transformation Agency. We oversee and provide advice on government investment in ICT and digital services to make sure they’re set up and delivered in the right way.

Our role is to:

  • set priorities in line with the government’s Digital Transformation Agenda

  • shape new investment proposals to make sure they contribute to the Digital Transformation Agenda, speed up improvements for user experience and eliminate duplication across government

  • make sure agencies deliver these effectively and efficiently

How we do it

We support these initiatives through the following 3 functions.

Strategy Office

We maintain the Digital Transformation Roadmap. We also prioritise opportunities to improve the way people use government services.

Investment Office

We provide strategic advice to the Australian Government on investment proposals and the agencies responsible for them.

Portfolio Office

We oversee ICT and digital projects and programs that are underway, advise the government on them and look for opportunities to help agencies lift their capabilities.

Digital Transformation Agenda

We help government agencies understand what the Digital Transformation Agenda means for them.

We can help them develop new policy proposals, business cases and project delivery approaches. Importantly, we can help them understand how to measure and realise benefits.
