A new era for digital transformation in government

Today we’ve released a new Digital Transformation Strategy for government.

We’ve been working in partnership with government and in consultation with peak bodies and industry on a strategy that sets the direction of our work to 2025, as we strive to become one of the top 3 digital governments in the world.

The strategy sets out 3 priorities that put people and businesses at the centre of everything we do:

  • Government that’s easier to deal with 
  • Government that’s informed by you 
  • Government that’s fit for the digital age

They focus on delivering integrated digital services, using data and increasing trust and transparency, and lifting the digital capability of government. 

This means you will have greater flexibility when dealing with government, seamless services that support your needs and life events and easier ways to engage on matters that are important to you. Your privacy and security will continue to be at the forefront of everything we do. 

The strategy is accompanied by a comprehensive roadmap that outlines the planned initiatives to help us achieve our goals. It is an enormous journey — one that will ultimately impact every government department, and every Australian. 

It will take a combined effort, and we will work closely with other tiers of government, industry, academia and the community sector.

We will report back on our performance, making changes that address your feedback and emerging opportunities as we go.
